Who We Are
A Long Way To Go is a platform for women seeking clear, credible guidance through pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. It brings together insight from qualified professionals across women’s health, fitness and wellness, offering practical, evidence-based advice on caring for your body and mind during periods of profound change.
From safe and effective movement to skin and hair care, nutrition, mental health, sex and recovery, ALWTG exists to help women better understand what’s happening in their bodies, and to feel supported while navigating it. Whether you’re adapting to physical shifts, managing emotional changes or simply looking for reassurance, the platform meets women where they are.
At its core, A Long Way To Go recognises that every woman’s experience is different. There is no single timeline or expectation. ALWTG champions strength, confidence and progress on your own terms.
This chapter isn’t about ‘bouncing back’; it’s about moving forward at your own pace, and in your own way.

Meet our founder, Katie O’Malley
A Long Way To Go was founded by journalist and broadcaster Katie O’Malley, after she found herself feeling unexpectedly lost during her own pregnancy and postpartum experience. Despite having spent years writing about wellness and women’s health, Katie often struggled to find clear, trustworthy explanations for what was happening in her body and reassurance about what was normal. That disconnect highlighted how many women are left navigating this period without widely accessible, evidence-led information or space for open conversation.
A former digital editor at ELLE UK, Katie has interviewed everyone from Oprah Winfrey and world leaders to medical experts and cultural figures. She is an award-winning journalist who has written extensively for international publications on women’s interest stories, wellness, fitness and health, and has worked with brands including Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Dior and lululemon.
Katie is focused on bridging the gap between journalism and women’s health advocacy. Through ALWTG, she aims to make complex information feel clearer and more human, amplify expert voices, and ensure that access to high-quality guidance isn’t determined by privilege, particularly at a time when women are often at their most vulnerable.
